Reliance Medical, Inc. is a trusted, full-service provider of home medical equipment and supplies, serving southwest Texas communities for over 30 years. We are currently seeking a reliable and customer-focused DME Retail/Delivery Technician to join our team at our Alpine location (508 East Avenue E, Alpine, TX 79830).
Position Overview This is a full-time role combining delivery, setup, and retail responsibilities in our DME (Durable Medical Equipment) operations. You will deliver, install, and instruct patients on home medical equipment (such as wheelchairs, oxygen supplies, hospital beds, and other mobility aids), assist in our retail showroom, and ensure excellent service to patients and healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
• Safely load, transport, deliver, set up, and demonstrate the proper use of durable medical equipment to patients' homes or facilities.
• Perform pick-ups of equipment when needed.
• Provide patient and caregiver education on equipment operation, safety, and maintenance.
• Assist with minor equipment troubleshooting, cleaning, and basic repairs/maintenance.
• Handle retail tasks in the showroom, including greeting customers, processing sales, and managing inventory.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, patient documentation, cleaning equipment and inventory logs (Logs done on computer).
• Work independently while adhering to company policies, safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.
• Ensure timely and professional service in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
• Must be able to lift up to 46 lbs (Wheelchairs and Beds) and handle physical demands of loading/unloading equipment.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (required for company vehicle use).
• Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation and reliability.
• Excellent customer service skills and a compassionate, patient-oriented attitude.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling.
• Medical experience (e.g., prior work in healthcare, DME, home health, or related fields) is a plus but not required—we will provide training.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
